The Woman in Cabin 10 Film
This classic whodunit thriller features Keira Knightley as Laura, a top-notch writer who decides to take a hiatus from reporting on world issues to embark on a high-end voyage alongside a terminally ill Norwegian shipping heiress and donor, her partner, and other affluent passengers. Presence
The acclaimed director pushes his film-making abilities through this clever paranormal narrative shot entirely from the perspective of the phantom. When a household featuring mother Rebekah and troubled teenage daughter Chloe settles into their recent residence, the lens – as the unseen entity – tracks their movements. The daughter appears conscious of the poltergeist, and it seems protective of her. But why? The premise is enjoyable that doesn't outstay its welcome, with a twist that could catch you off guard. Saturday 11 October, afternoon and evening times, Sky Cinema Premiere
This Self-Referential Film
The iconic actor embraces his unique fame through this autobiographical spoof. He acts as an egotistical Hollywood actor playing himself who takes on a $1m payday to visit a birthday party at a Mediterranean location for the rich Javi Gutierrez. Hired by the CIA to investigate the suspected cartel boss, Cage's “nouveau shamanic acting ability” is put to the test. This Saturday, 9pm, the Channel 4 network
This Creepy Thriller
Derrickson's locked-room horror stands strong despite the lack of a follow-up. Taking place in 1978 Denver, a series of disappearances has rendered the children frightened. Once Finney is kidnapped by “the Grabber” and imprisoned in a basement, he fears the worst. Yet the non-functional line in the room continues to ring, with eerie communicators giving advice, while the prophetic visions of his sister Gwen may be his salvation. A solid creepfest. October 11th, late evening, Film4
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the battle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for greed in Michael Showalter's delightfully tacky true story about the fallen televangelist and her felon spouse. Garfield plays the corrupt Bakker, who declares at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple begin capitalizing on the nation's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of bad interior design, bad makeup and bad faith, though the lead actress succeeds to present Tammy Faye with compassion. October 14th, late night, the Film4 channel
This Espionage Thriller
The current week's additional entry by the same director presents a spy mystery as tight similar to the collars sported by Fassbender's UK spy. The two stars are experts of understated style, leading to a delightful psychological game of truth or lie unfolds. Additional actors take part the clever spy entertainment.
